Nestled in the heart of the forest in Balingup, our heritage-listed timber cottages offer a peaceful escape surrounded by nature. Located within Lewana Cottages, a South West WA wedding venue and retreat, each cottage has been thoughtfully preserved to retain its original character and rustic charm, while being fully self-contained with all the essentials for a relaxing and comfortable farm stay.

In the cooler months, wood fires keep the cottages warm and toasty - the perfect setting to curl up with a book or unwind after a day exploring the South West. In summer, the shaded verandas become your front-row seat to nature. Whether you’re sipping a glass of wine, sharing a meal, or simply soaking up the serenity, the views of the forest and visiting wildlife are never far away.

Each cottage includes a kitchen and private bathroom, and two also feature outdoor laundry facilities. We’re a family-friendly destination, with high-chairs available at no extra cost and cots with linen available on request - just let us know what you need.

Seven Gravel Race Accommodation
Planning to ride or support the SEVEN Gravel Race? Lewana Cottages offers a unique accommodation experience for the event weekend, with both our historic cottages and a limited number of glamping tents in partnership with Nomadika.

A glamping tent stay at Lewana Cottages offers the ideal base for riders - and their families or supporters - heading to the SEVEN Gravel Race. Lewana is perfectly positioned at the confluence of The Crucible, Arcadia, and The Labyrinth, making it a convenient and memorable place to stay during the event.

Whether you’re racing, cheering from the sidelines, or simply soaking up the buzz of the weekend, glamping at Lewana is a relaxed and immersive way to experience the SEVEN Gravel Race.

Wake to birdsong and forest stillness, ease into the day with a warm coffee from the Lewana coffee cart, and give your body the calm, nourishing recovery it deserves before - or after - big kilometres on the bike.
Glamping tents are also available for training weekends and cycling getaways throughout the season, offering a comfortable and unique stay surrounded by the beauty of the Blackwood River Valley.
Our cottages are named after the families (forestry workers and farmers) that originally lived in them. The first cottage was built in 1931!
